Happy Friday and Welcome Back!

I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break!  The girls came back excited to share stories of their travels, play dates, and adventures.  It sounds like everyone enjoyed the time away from school.  Today was a BIG day in 7th Age...we gave out play parts for our May 7th!!!  Your daughter will be bringing home her script to start practicing her lines.  More details will come home next week about costumes.  Thank you for practicing every day with your daughter!

A Look Ahead:
*Monday is Opening Day for the Orioles and a dress down day for us.  Show your Oriole pride by wearing black, orange, and white.

*Next week's spelling words have the long e sound, spelled with the vowel pairs /ea/ and /ee/:
read, team, each, clean, eat, Easter, see, feet, keep, between, teeth, feel

*Next week we will write about our favorite class at school.  Please help your daughter complete the brainstorming graphic organizer that is coming home today.  Bring it in on Tuesday, April 1st (wow!).

*This is the last weekend to read for March Reading Madness!!  Your daughter's record sheet is due on MONDAY, MARCH 31ST!!!!!

Lastly, if you're planning on cleaning out your closets this weekend, please consider donating your clothes to Calvert's Clothing Drive next week:

Clothing Drive March 31st-April 4th -  The Lower and Middle Schools will be collecting clothing to donate to the Hampden Family Center and Paul's Place.  Students can bring in gently used clothing the week after we return from spring break.  Collection bins will be available in the Middle School lower lobby (outside of the Black Box Theater) after handshaking and in the front lobby of the Lower School. The community centers would appreciate children's clothes and coats, in particular, but any donations would be greatly appreciated.  If you are interested in helping to deliver the clothing please contact Neal McMahon (Lower School) or Kathy Liotta (Middle School).  Thank you for your support!

Girls' Day

We loved learning about Girls' Day, which is celebrated in Japan on March 3rd.  We read the story Hiroman's Hands, made candy sushi, ate peaches (to symbolize peach blossoms) and rice crackers.  Having our dolls with us at school was a special treat, too.

**Mystery Readers**

Our shortest month of the year has come and gone so fast!!  In February we were so lucky to have two Mystery Readers visit us.  Thank you Mrs. Bergles and Mrs. Cooper for spending time with us.  We loved the stories and the yummy treats!
